SL Green Realty Corp. Announces Conversion of Preferred Income Equity Redeemable SharesNew York, NY, August 25, 2003 --SL Green Realty Corp. (NYSE: SLG) today announced that it will convert all 4,600,000 of the outstanding shares of its 8.0% Series A Preferred Income Equity Redeemable Shares ("PIERSSM") on October 1, 2003. The PIERS will be converted at the rate of 1.0215 shares of our common stock for each share of preferred stock. Dividends will be paid on the PIERS through the conversion date.

The notice of conversion will be mailed to record holders of the PIERS on or about August 27, 2003. Questions regarding the conversion of the PIERS should be directed to the redemption agent, The Bank of New York, at P.O.
