“The ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence award is a tremendous validation of our efforts to build, renovate, and finance the future of New York City while seeking to create the greenest footprint achievable across our portfolio,” said Marc Holliday, SL Green’s Chief Executive Officer.

BOMA’s “Earth Award” recognizes 1515 Broadway’s robust sustainability program, which includes a $130 million investment across 17 efficiency initiatives. In partnership with anchor tenant Viacom, SL Green pursued LEED-CI certifications on multiple floors, retrofit all spaces with LED lighting, and implemented a building management system (BMS) to track and improve the building's energy performance. These initiatives have generated a 25% energy reduction across the asset, and was certified LEED Gold in 2017. SL Green’s joint venture partner in the building, Allianz Real Estate, was also present to celebrate the win.

Alongside joint venture partner, Vornado Realty Trust (NYSE: VNO), and in conjunction with CBRE and KPF Architects, SL Green re-positioned 280 Park Avenue by attracting a premier tenant roster of prominent companies and positively impacting the real estate community.
The 2018 “Middle Atlantic Region Outstanding Building of the Year” TOBY Award went to 810 7th Avenue in the 500,000 – 1 million square feet category and the “Middle Atlantic Region Outstanding Building of the Year” TOBY Award to 635-641 6th Avenue in the Renovated Building category.
